On the edge of a nature reserve on the quiet east end of the island, Villa Abby brings a sense of calm to life in St. Barth. It is an isolated and tranquil retreat, occupying nearly three-quarters of an acre of its own private land. The luxury rental property benefits tremendously from a recent, thorough renovation of the bedrooms, bathrooms, and kitchen and the replacement of windows throughout the house. As peaceful and remote as it is, Villa Abby is not completely cut off from the pleasures of the Caribbean. Its guests can observe the kite- and wind-surfers zipping around Grand Cul-de-Sac, or simply enjoy the beauty of the verdant hills and sparkling sea, and the islets of Tortue, Toc Vert, and Fregate, as well as Marigot Bay and Petit-Cul-de-Sac too. Those stunning views are to be found from every room, as well as the outdoor living and dining areas. In addition, several beaches are just a few minutes’ drive away. With its three comparably sized, well-separated bedrooms, Villa Abby is well-designed for groups of friends travelling on holiday together or for families with adult children. (Although it is also suitable for younger children.) The shared spaces are designed both for relaxing and for hosting intimate gatherings, or perhaps a little of both. The Sibarth concierge can help you make all the arrangements. The whole house spans a single level. It is anchored by a spacious, inviting living room that spills onto the covered dining terrace and has a well-equipped kitchen behind it. Down some stairs, a newly expanded terrace (1,500 square feet of limestone and exotic hardwood) surrounds the heated, pink-tiled swimming pool. All of this is surrounded by gardens that contain flowers such as night-blooming jasmine. One of the bedrooms is near the kitchen and has a private office, and the other two are on the opposite side of the living room. They each have a contemporary design, access to the sun deck, king-size four-poster bed, and ensuite bathroom.
