Kandara Is A Slice Of Heaven!

We spent a relaxing week in February at Kandara with family & friends and had a marvelous time! The large gated property on the West End of Anguilla is beautiful; lovely gardens, an expansive lawn, ocean views, and amazing sunsets! All of the en-suite bedrooms at Kandara are large and very nicely appointed, offering a fine selection of locally made toiletries. The beds & pillows were very comfortable, the towels were large & fluffy, the water pressure was excellent, and the AC did a great job keeping us cool and sleepy at night! The staff at Kandara is incredible! Our housekeepers, Subrina & Ana, were so friendly & kind and were always available to assist with anything we needed but were never intrusive. They made us a killer breakfast every morning and their margaritas and gin & tonics were delightful on the vista deck! Dele rounded out the onsite staff and made sure everything was ship shape at the property! There is no staff chef at Kandara so we hired Chef Leontes Richardson (Chef Lee) and his assistant Lance to prepare many of our lunches and dinners during our stay. Lee is a really nice man and is very talented with his creative dishes and presentation! Everyone enjoyed the meals and the variety he offered! The location is great! Very private yet close to many things! We rented Mokes for a day and explored the island from end to end. Anguilla is a really quaint place and is easy to get around! We dined out a few times and found all the local cuisine to be excellent! Of particular note was the restaurant Veya, about a 15 minute drive from Kandara. Excellent food & service and on the night we dined we were treated to the incredibly talented local musician, Omari Banks!
