Nestled on its own sandy beach by the blue waters of Discovery Bay, A Summer Place is a spacious and playful family home. The design is of typical Caribbean gingerbread style with hand carved fretwork trimming the length of the house. The large open-plan living room features an entertainment center with a 30" DSS TV, VCR, and assortment of videos for all ages. French doors open from the living room to a 15-square-foot furnished veranda. Charmingly draped with beautiful Thunbergia blossoms, the veranda is the heart of this happy home. On this covered terrace, guests can read, play games, snooze, and watch hummingbirds feed on the flowers or just take in the magnificent beauty all around while being quite near the action at the private pool and beach. All around are mesmerizing panoramas of azure water and lush green hills. Multicolored bougainvillea, hibiscus, sea grape, almond, ginger lilies, and coconut adorn the manicured grounds. A large sideyard invites playful children to romp to their hearts' content. Mouth watering home cooked meals include Jamaican, American, and Continental specialties. Memorable meals are served on the terrace or in the more formal dining area on a 250 year old family heirloom table that seats 14. On special occasions, dinner is served in the pool gazebo or in the main gazebo at the end of the jetty. The waterfront gazebo is also a favorite spot for massages, cocktails and watching glorious sunsets across the bay. From the pool terrace, it's only a few steps onto the 100-foot white sand beach. Guests are invited to use the snorkeling equipment and sea kayaks for great fun on the beautiful water here.

A Summer Place In Winter

We had a very positive experience with our vacation. We were there for 10 days and each days was amazing. We had two kids with us, 5 and 6 with a birthday for the 6 year old and everything was handled beautifully. I requested that if possible there might be some pool and sand toys and they had them ready to go. The house itself is stunning and perfect for a large family group. We had 10 people and there was lots of space. Each member of the staff was outstanding. My only criticism is the island wide problem of water pressure, but that’s certainly not a big thing.

Amazingly Beautiful

My husband and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary and renewed our vows. You can look at all the pictures of "A Summer Place on the Beach" on the internet, but none does this property justice. It is absolutely gorgeous, more than you can ever imagine. It was the perfect place for our ceremony. However, it would not be as amazing if the staff were not who they are. They are the icing on the cake that will make you not want to leave. They were very accommodating, all you had to do was ask and you received. Chef Maylin; Butler Derval; Housekeeper/Laundress - Norine; Gardner - Cat, plus all the others were extremely the best care takers ever. They went above and beyond to ensure we were happy. The grounds of the villa were kept immaculate at all times. We had 8 staff and we, a group of 12, appreciate each and everyone of them. Their smiles and friendliness will always be remember until we return. This was an awesome experience that will last a life time.

Fantastic!

A Summer Place was fantastic! MayLin, our cook, was very patient with my suggestions for meals; Derval and Roy were right there for anything we needed; Norene and Inez worked to get our laundry back to us clean and fresh while Cat and Philip kept the pool and grounds clean. The location was perfect, it offered everything you would need. Gym, tennis court, kayaks, snorkeling equipment and a wonderful staff to make it a real vacation! I also rented a van and driver for the week which was useful for our short jaunts into Ocho and MB and few excursions we took. Denton was an excellent resource for answering our questions about best places to shop. He's an ace in customer service. I only suggest that Tim, our concierge, would have suggested Mobay Club"" so we would not have waited 2 hours to go through customs. All in all
